2025 New Grower Application
CVFC is a group of five flower farms in the greater Charlottesville area, including growers in Albemarle, Orange, and Madison counties. We formed in 2022 and have non-profit status. We are currently focused on servicing wholesale and event florist customers; over the past three years, we have established relationships with most local florists, as well as many event and wedding florists. We formed CVFC so that we could do more of what we do best: grow beautiful blooms. A cooperative / collective selling model enables growers to share the administration tasks, such as availability lists, delivery, marketing and billing.
Requirements:
-
Growing professionally for at least two years.
-
A Rooted Farmers subscriber or able to join.
-
Have sufficient inventory to list 3-5 bunches per week.
-
Able to follow the weekly CVFC listing and Bunch schedule.
-
Able to bring your flowers to Earlysville from 8 to 10 am one day per week.
-
Willing to uphold the high floral standards of CVFC.
-
Able to volunteer as needed to help grow and maintain the Collective.
What does it mean to be a trial grower?
For the first season, new growers will be considered Trial Growers.
Growers retain 75% of their sales; CVFC takes a commission of 25% of each bunch; this money funds the marketing, administration, delivery and other expenses for the Collective.
Trial growers will not have a vote on CVFC matters, but are welcome to attend meetings and express opinions during this time.
We have a Mentorship program for new growers, so you won't be on your own for the first year (we know it can be a challenge). New grower will be matched with one of our more experienced growers.
There are yearly Collective dues of $150.00. This is due at the beginning of the season.
Once we receive your application, we’ll schedule a zoom meeting with two collective members. If you have any questions at all about the above, please email us at CVAFlowers@gmail.com.
